High school seniors who reside in Greene County are invited and encouraged to apply for scholarships offered by the Greene County Soil & Water Conservation Club and Greene County Soil & Water Conservation District. Each scholarship is for $500. Seniors planning to apply must be planning to pursue an agriculture, conservation, or natural resources program or degree. This is a wide field and many studies apply. (For example, engineers, ag business, agronomy, vet or vet asst., plumbers, welders, diesel mechanics, electricians, horticulture/landscaping, etc.)
Students who want complete information and application forms can contact their high school guidance counselor or Amber Kenan, conservation assistant, at the Greene SWCD office at 1703 N Elm, Suite 2, in Jefferson (the USDA Service Center) or phone 515-386-3817 ext. 3.
Absolute deadline to apply is Friday, March 8, 2019 by 4 pm.
